After School Classes (weekly)
Rooted in a farm-to-table philosophy, Nourish Cooking Company’s children’s cooking classes invite kids to experience food beyond the recipe. We explore how ingredients are grown, why methods matter, and how cooking can be both practical and joyful.
Children learn foundational cooking skills, traditional techniques, and kitchen confidence — creating nourishing meals while building a deeper relationship with food, community, and self-sufficiency.
All spring classes will take place at LIBERTY WAY FARM, 1050 Hwy 5, Dundas.
Tiny Taste Makers
Tuesdays - 4:15pm - 5:15pm
or
Wednesdays - 4:15pm - 5:15pm or 5:30pm to 6:30pm
Each session is 8 weeks. For children age 3-7 years.
Our Tiny Taste Makers classes are designed to gently introduce young children to the kitchen through hands-on, sensory-based learning. Children explore food by touching, smelling, tasting, pouring, mixing, and chopping (with age-appropriate tools) while learning the names of ingredients and where they come from.
Each class moves at a calm, playful pace, encouraging curiosity and confidence rather than perfection. We focus on simple skills, real ingredients, and repeated experiences that help children feel comfortable and capable in the kitchen. Through cooking, children develop fine motor skills, independence, and a positive relationship with food — all while having fun and getting a little messy.
The Supper Club
Tuesdays from 5:30pm - 6:45pm for 8 weeks
8 years +
Our Children’s Supper Club is a more advanced, collaborative cooking experience where older children build on foundational kitchen skills to prepare a complete meal from start to finish. Together, we plan, cook, and assemble dishes, learning techniques such as chopping, sautéing, baking, seasoning, and timing.
Classes emphasize responsibility, teamwork, and confidence as children take an active role in the kitchen. The experience culminates in sitting down together to share the meal they’ve made, reinforcing connection, gratitude, and pride in their work. The Supper Club nurtures independence, practical life skills, and a deeper understanding of food as both nourishment and community.
Inclement Weather Policy
At Nourish Cooking Company, the safety of our children and families always comes first.
If a class must be cancelled due to severe weather, unsafe road conditions, or power outages, we will notify families by email and/or text as soon as possible.
For session-based programs:
Each session includes one built-in weather make-up week in the schedule. If a class is cancelled due to weather, it will be rescheduled into this designated make-up week. If there is more than one week cancelled due to inclement weather, those classes will not be made up and no refunds will be issued.
We appreciate your understanding, as this policy allows us to keep our programs sustainable while continuing to offer high-quality, small-group experiences for children.
Please note that registration is a two step process. Please click the button to fill out the waiver and then click on the shopping cart in the lower right corner to complete your payment.
